The role:
The Women’s Services Coordinator is responsible for providing our Women’s Support Service (free non-judgemental advice & referral to women in need or crisis, via phone, online and drop-in), running/supporting our Community Education Programme, and administering bookings. This is our primary public-facing role, key to ensuring all our community feels welcome, supported and empowered at our centre. It is an opportunity to enact manaakitanga.
On any given day, you may be:
- on the phone to awhi women in distress, connecting them with organisations who can assist
- publicising the next term’s community classes in the e-newsletter
- analysing evaluations from recent workshops
- meeting with potential tutors in life skills, art and/or te reo
- making bookings for counselling and massage

The ideal applicant: will be highly empathetic; organised; have formal or informal experience in social work, community work or counselling; and understand how to work cross-culturally with a diverse range of people.
We’re looking someone who supports intersectional feminism and who has:
- A proven proactive commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A formal or informal social work, community work, or counselling background
- Reliable with good organisational and administration skills
- An ability to work cross-culturally
- A warm, welcoming presence
- A collaborative attitude to help a small organisation run smoothly.

Hours: 20 hours per week, 9:30am – 3:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (includes an unpaid 30-minute lunch break). Parent-friendly hours – we can negotiate start and finish time depending on your responsibilities.
Start date: 10 June.
Wages and conditions: between $30 and $32 per hour depending on experience, with an annual cost-of-living increase on 1 July. We provide a warm and collegial working environment and five weeks annual leave. This a permanent contract.
