By our collective powers combined, we can create spectacular things for all wāhine and women in Aotearoa.
This year, we showed what’s possible when we speak truth to power. Together, we pushed back against systems that are increasing gender-based violence. Stalking and harassment are now formally recognised in law as serious crimes.
This is feminist change that will save lives. However, on its own, passing the law doesn’t protect victim-survivors. We need to keep the pressure on, and continue the fight for stalking-informed police training; independent stalking advocates for victims, and violence prevention through education. We need your help to keep up the mahi!
Regular giving is the most powerful way to support Auckland Women’s Centre’s mahi. It helps us plan ahead, stay independent, and keep our work bold, loud, and community-led. In other words, a lot of people donating a little goes a long way- for women’s safety, wellbeing, and equity.
Alternatively, a one-time donation, (especially at this time of year!), is extremely well-received. We know the holiday season is challenging for our community in many ways – it also can be excruciating for people experiencing stalking. Every donation, large or small, makes a difference.
- A $100 gift covers a letter to a political decision-maker
- A $150 gift covers a meeting with allies
- A $200 gift sustains our fight for trauma-informed police training; specialist stalking advocates; and prevention education in schools.
So, thank you for standing in solidarity with women & gender diverse communities, through your koha.
