We’re expanding our friendly local feminist team to include a mid-level community fundraiser (with responsibility for organising community education) so Auckland Women’s Centre can keep speaking truth to power while offering an amazing local hub of education, counselling, support and kōrero.
Auckland Women’s Centre Te Wāhi Wāhine o Tāmaki Makaurau provides neighbourhood awhi and nationwide voice, as a vibrant feminist community centre offering care, classes, and community events as well as collaborative advocacy for gender equity. We strive to honour te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The role: – The Fundraising and Community Education Coordinator will lead our fundraising efforts — cultivating donor relationships, managing campaigns, and growing our support base. You’ll also coordinate our community education programme, ensuring smooth delivery of courses, workshops, and engagement initiatives.
The ideal applicant will have the following attributes:
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophy and mahi of the Centre.
- An awareness of intersectional feminism and the community sector.
- An awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for community groups.
- An understanding that trans women are women.
- Honesty and transparency
- Proven success in achieving fundraising targets.
- Strong digital fundraising and campaign management skills (at least 5-6 years’ experience).
- Confidence and experience in donor database management, preferably Vega.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent digital media creation skills including social media design and videography
- Can attend up to 10 evening/weekend events each year
- Passionate about women’s rights and community advocacy
- Experience working in the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
- Has a full drivers’ license and access to a car

Hours: – 30 hours per week, on a 6-month contract with a view to roll-over.
Wages and conditions: – between $32 and $38 per hour (depending on experience), with an annual cost of living increase on 1 July. We provide a warm working environment and five weeks annual leave.
