Basic Car Maintenance Workshop

Come along and learn your way around a car, demystify car maintenance, and gain confidence in maintaining your car.

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • jump start a car.
  • check tyre pressure and change a tyre
  • find the cars vital fluids
  • check oil level
  • check cabin air filter
  • replace wiper blades
  • check bulbs
  • clean front lights

Sarah Yates

Artist and ex-race car driver, Sarah Yates invites women and people who identify as non-binary to join this workshop. Participants will learn basic car maintenance skills and the way around their car.

Born on Waiheke Island, 1987 she has lived in Auckland, She is actively involved with art and activism in New Zealand.  She worked in critical studies in Education at the University of Auckland on disaster relief, community and school art projects, she is currently employed at NZEI Te Riu Roa supporting and advocating for primary and early childhood educators. She was awarded a BFA (Hons) in Sculpture and Installation at the Elam School of Fine Arts, the University of Auckland in 2012.
