Books & Besties Book Club

Books & Besties

An intersectional feminist & queer-friendly book club

The Books & Besties book club is a monthly social group designed to bring together the community to discuss all things books! Join other book lovers in a queer-aligned, supportive and non-judgemental space.

Picture this: getting cozy on our couches, sipping on some tea, and discussing the intimate details of the same book, all while making new besties.

Whether you’re a reading fanatic, or you haven’t picked up a book in years, this club is perfect for you!

July’s book club pick of the month:

Time 6pm – 8pm
Location 4 Warnock St, Grey Lynn

Next dates: Wednesday 5 August, 2 September

Rhi Lennox

Kia ora! I’m Rhi (they/them), a counselling student and part-time bookseller. I worked in a library for six years before deciding to study counselling, so reading has been a big part of my life for a while now. Even as a kid, my mum threatened to take all of the books out of my room because I was often staying up way past my bedtime with my nose in a book! My favourite genre are usually horror, magical realism, sci-fi – and I love queer stories in any genre. Reading has always given me a sense of hope, joy and wonder.

Becca Costa

Kia ora, I’m Becca & my day job is doing the fundraising here at the centre 😊 I am a big fan of social and cultural storytelling and books that inspire growth and hope in my own life!  During the busy moments, I find I don’t always prioritise it enough even though it’s such a nourishing part of my self-care. That’s why I am so excited for the chance for our community to come together and share the magic in a social way! My hope is that our book club will become a space that feels accessible, collaborative, and empowering for all kinds of readers!
