Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga - Intermediate

A fun, welcoming space to learn Māori language and practices

This is an inclusive continuation of Te Reo Māori. It is best if you already know some beginners Te Reo. Through participation and conversation you will learn:

  • Karakia Whakatuwhera (Opening prayer)
  • Karakia whakamutunga (Closing prayer)
  • Whakahua tika (Proper pronunciation)
  • Waiata, action songs, games
  • Mihimihi (formal greeting/introduction)
  • Forms of greetings
  • Phrases and sentences
  • Pepeha – Whakapapa (Geneaology)
  • Counting, maths, and telling the time
  • Pepeha – Whakapapa (Geneaology)

The goal by end of the 2 months is that each and every student will know their pepeha.

The 2023 Intermediate Te Reo course is now taking enrolments

Cost $100 – $160 sliding scale
