Coaching is defined by the International Coaching Federation [ICF] as ‘partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential’.
The Coaching process can help to improve your outlook on life and work, and unlocking your potential. Coaching is a discovery and empowerment process based in the present and looks to the future. By tapping in to your inner resources and power and focusing on the present and your vision of your future, coaching works with you in partnership, as you explore and take actions to harness your power, or take the steps forward you are wanting to take, or to reach your goals.
Coaching helps you take advantage of opportunities or challenges coming your way, or when you feel ‘stuck’ whilst achieving your goals, or as a discovery process in your personal or professional life.
Whilst coaching (life, leadership, executive coaching etc) in New Zealand seems like a relatively new field, coaching has been around for several decades and the International Coaching Federation [ICF] Professional Body has been around for over 25 years and is globally recognised as the gold standard as a professional coaching body. The ICF is dedicated to professional training, standards, ethics, development, and research in the field of coaching.
All AWC coaches are fully qualified, in professional group supervision and belong to the ICF.
