Learn techniques including knitting with summer weight yarns such as linen blends; knitting in the round on circular needles; top-down construction; short row shaping; twisted ribbing; simple lace work.
This series of two workshops (10am til 2pm with quick lunch break, if wanted) is for those who have mastered the basics of knitting and wish to extend their skills. Students must be already able to cast on; knit garter and purl stitch; increase stitches; bind off; and follow basic knitting pattern instructions.
Learning will be based on a Ravelry pattern called Tilly, a tee shirt style with quite an open texture. You can omit the lace detailing and make other changes like adding colour or texture.
At Workshop One we start at the more complicated part of the construction.
Depending on how much knitting you do between workshops you may need to finish your top later at home. The end part is easy though, just knitting in the round.
