Auckland Women’s Centre is committed to contributing toward a strong Rainbow community in Auckland.
We offer the services and resources outlined below to the Rainbow community. We undertake to ensure that they are ethical, confidential and accessible.

Once a year we run a facilitated support group for women who are questioning their sexual orientation. The group runs for 7 weeks and is designed to be supportive, safe, non-judgemental women's space where you can ask questions and talk about same sex attraction. INFORMATION SHARING
Notice boards, displays and written resources promoting Rainbow activities, events and services. Information on community groups, Rainbow support services and networks throughout Auckland. Express newspaper is available at reception and we hold lists of lawyers, doctors and counsellors who are part of the Rainbow Community.
THE WOMEN'S LIBRARY
Books by, for and about women. The Women’s Library has a strong collection of material by, for and about lesbians, bisexual, queer and trans women.
Fiction includes:
- Romances and erotic novels
- Short Stories
- Crime Fiction and science fiction
- Queer/Lesbian themed novels
Non-fiction includes:
- Autobiographies, queer and lesbian lives and herstory
- Coming out stories
- Queer/Lesbian families and parenting books
- Lesbian feminism, queer, bi, trans theory
- Relationship and sexuality books
The library has a self issue system and membership is by annual subscription, $5 for beneficiaries and between $10 and $20 for non-beneficiaries.
Library hours are:
Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm
SUPPORT GROUPS
All our support groups and community education programmes are rainbow-friendly: Get Knitting, Building a New Life After Separation, Self defence, Memoir Writing, Yoga, etc
