Jane has helped women through all sorts of issues including relationship and parenting concerns, depression, anxiety, stress, disordered eating and body image issues and abuse. Counselling can be optimistic and hopeful without minimising the very real difficulties and challenges that people face.

 Lesbian Counsellor Wanted at AWC

We are seeking an experienced counsellor to be part of our team at the Auckland Women’s Centre.

The ideal person will be:

  • lesbian and comfortable being advertised on our website as a lesbian counsellor
  • supportive of our organisation and its kaupapa
  • happy to work within our sliding scale of $40-$80 per session
  • fully qualified
  • professionally supervised
  • belong to a professional body

Our AWC counselling service has its busy times and then also its quieter times. We would be looking for someone to be available on Mondays or Wednesdays to see AWC clients as and when the need arises. This would work well for someone who already has their own private practice and would like an opportunity to give back to the community. This person will be providing general counselling as well as working specifically with women from the Rainbow community.

Expressions of interest along with your current CV can be submitted to:

Ellie Lim

Women’s Services and Community Education Coordinator

womensservices@womenz.org.nz

There is an entirely different opportunity available for someone looking to rent a practice room on a regular weekly basis. We would consider having either the Monday or Wednesday being used as a counselling space for someone external to our organisation. You would need to bring your own client load, it is purely room rental so you could charge your regular fees, the cost for room would be $10 per client to a maximum of $40 per day. The clients would need to be exclusively women/girls as they would be using our bathroom facilities. If you have any questions regarding either of these opportunities, please call Ellie on 376 3227 xtn 1.
